Goodbye, 2022. Hello, 2023

A gratitude post.

After the last three years since lockdown, I’ve been dealing with family, work, and trying to stay creative. It seemed like everyone around me was doing something new while I was in the lab (when I’m not shooting, I’m a scientist). While social media was pinning me down in terms of FOMO, I felt like I had to be the responsible one knowing the capabilities this stupid virus had on compromised and non-compromised individuals. I didn’t want to be that guy who got sick and got others sick, knowing what I know about COVID.

Being patient the last three years has been somewhat bittersweet. During the extreme downtime, finding peace was difficult. I already have bad anxiety and have a hard time sleeping. But as time progressed, I was able to take a few vacations with the family, visit certain places now, AND be able to breathe a little better physically, mentally, and creatively.

So goodbye 2022. It’s been ok, but I’m glad to leave you in the rearview.

Blessings and good health to everyone in 2023! Stay strong and keep fighting the good fight!
